Roman Infantry Tactics

After having seen 300, it really dug up my obsession with the battlefield tactics of the era. I’m a big sucker for huge fields of battle, especially in movies; some scenes from Braveheart, the Battle of Helms Deep, and the last battle of the trilogy, from the Lord of the Rings comes to mind as well.

I took a look around Wiki and found some descriptions and explanations of some of the phat strats these soldiers and their leaders used to use on their battlefield.

Schiltrons, Shield Walls, Phalanx, Testudo!

Lastly, I have found an awesome weapon name. I’m going to name a son after it. The Onager! PWNAGER!

This has been a drop of knowledge fo yo ass.
