The Escapist : Zero Punctuation: Zack & Wiki

This weeks ZP made me cheer out in glee, because he hit something I felt strongly about right on the head. I don’t and haven’t traditionally liked adventure games because it requires you to think along the logic of the original game designer. In some cases, it’s not that hard, because it’s completely logical. I.e. use the sharp thing on the rope to cut it. In other cases, I just can’t wrap my head around the puzzle and end up often angry because it’s so ridiculous. I.e. use the frog on the toaster to short it out to turn off the power in the room… I just can’t do it, and it’s not my idea of a fun time. Give me a walkthrough and I’ll enjoy and appreciate the story.

That being said the only adventure game I’ve ever really beaten was the original Sam and Max game, because that was the closest to my train of logic. I’ve beaten the Quest for Glory games mostly because they made sense in the grand RPG scale.
