So Mr Jason Rohrer made a simple game called Passage, where you simply travel through a lifetime as you play. As you progress farther ‘right’ into the game, you get older. Travelling up or down lets you explore, with down being more risky and more adventuresome. You can find a spouse as well, and thereby travel with her, but it also makes you less agile. All-in-all a pretty simple/cute idea, naturally a game of this nature is very artistically-charged so there were a lot of discussions had about it across the itnerbutss, but that’s not why I bring it up.
In the spirit of silliness and commentary, someone made a Flash game called Passage in 10 Seconds. It’s a funny summary and commentary on the game itself. It’s funny to me because this is similar to the spirit of what goes on at Newgrounds.com a lot; someone makes something prominent, and for whatever reason, the community comments by responding with some sort of work. Obviously this is the essence of meme-ery, too.
The murmur of people talking about games, art, etc recently seems to be getting louder.
